What is citizen saboteur?

Citizen Saboteur is a tabletop role playing game (TTRPG). Long-standing examples of TTRPGs are Dungeons & Dragons, Call of Cthulhu and Pathfinder.This game is set in an alternate reality circa 1955. The Red Menace is the evil, arcane-powered totalitarian enemy that has invaded and now occupies your homeland. Join with your Game Master (GM) and fellow players, create your own Citizen Saboteurs and the Cell they belong to and start wreaking havoc on the Red Menace today.

is citizen saboteur a forged in the dark hack?

Yes. Citizen Saboteur uses the Standard Reference Document (SRD) for Forged in the Dark Licensed by John Harper. If you are familiar with the TTRPG Blades in the Dark (it is amazing) you will know the game system Citizen Saboteur is based on. New rules have been introduced for some aspects of the game to suit the overall tone and setting.

what is expected of me if i playtest this material?

Time and honest, constructive feedback is all we ask for. We understand there are many TTRPGs you are thinking of playing or already playing and your time is important to us. For that reason, we hope to provide a fun, easy-to-follow playtesting process. At the very least, a GM and 3-5 players can effectively playtest Citizen Saboteur in one 2 hour session. All playtest materials, feedback sheets and downloads are free.

when will citizen saboteur be published as a TTRPG?

Whoa there, Tigers! We expect playtesting to run across the full 2026 calendar year, iterating as we go. If everything goes to plan and playtesters like this idea, the TTRPG should be for sale in early 2027.

what if our group wants a playtest without a gm?

We can organise a playtest where we handle the Game Master role for your players - subject to availability. Please add this to your enquiry. These will be run via Discord at an agreed date and time over the course of the 2026 calendar year.
